On December 31st 2011 Antonio “Bettinglife” Ramalho was a regular at $10 SNGs.
He was just starting out as a professional player, earning enough to get by due to the low cost of living in Portugal.
He looked up to Supernova Elite grinders, and it was his dream to reach their level.
On January 1st 2012 he attempted to achieve that dream, a goal most thought impossible.
By June 2012 he was able to move up from $10 SNGs to the midstakes, but had only reached 200k VPPs. He would need to earn 800k more in 6 months to reach SNE, a pace 4x his current.
Despite the long odds he was able to push through and complete one of the most improbable SNE runs in history.
Through a combination of strong work ethic, positive grind habits and a focus on diet and exercise, Antonio has been able to obtain Supernova Elite status every year since 2012.
